Labor’s Vindictive Franking Policy
Self-funded retirees said they were relieved that Labor’s plan to scrap franking credit refunds had been skittled by the Coaltion’s surprise election win.
Swing voter Gracie Scott, aged 78, said Labor’s controversial franking credit proposal was integral to her decision to put Labor last on her ballot paper.
“It pushed Labor right down. I put Liberal ahead of Labor because of that,” Mrs Scott said over lunch during the Australian Shareholders’ Association conference in Melbourne on Monday.
